DAWSON CITY YUKON (9:30 a.m. P.S.T.) 2007 Yukon Quest musher Greg Parvin and his team are safe and healthy, camped approximately 20 miles from the remote Stewart River Dog Drop and 80 miles from Dawson City. Yukon Quest officials have offered Parvin the choice to be met at a midway along the trail by the Canadian Rangers to resupply him with dog food and supplies or to return to the Stewart River Dog Drop to be airlifted by charter aircraft. Discussions surrounding Parvin's choice have yet to be finalized.

February 16, 2007 | YUKON QUEST MUSHER OVERDUE IN DAWSON CITY DAWSON CITY, YUKON (8:00 p.m.) – Officials of the 2007 Yukon Quest International Sled Dog Race announced tonight that a search team has been organized and will begin operations tomorrow morning to locate an overdue team if it does not arrive in the checkpoint overnight. Nome, Alaska musher Greg Parvin (team number 16) left the Scroggie Creek Dog Drop at 9:50 a.m.
Thursday and was expected to arrive in Dawson City, the midpoint of the 1,000-mile (1,600 kilometre) race, some time this afternoon. To determine the team’s location and condition, four members of the Canadian Rangers will set out by snow machine from Dawson City tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. They will retrace the 100 miles of race trail between Dawson City and Scroggie Creek that they themselves cut in early January. Aircraft will also be utilized to locate the overdue musher and his team. Parvin, an attorney and veteran of the Iditarod Sled Dog Race, has been running sled dogs for eight years. He is an experienced musher, having finished the 2005 Iditarod, the Nome Council 200, the Kobuk 440, the Kusko 300 and the Kobuk 220. This is Parvin’s first Yukon Quest.
