The Yukon Quest has asked Wes Rau back by incredibly popular demand. Wes Rau is an Oregon-based
musher,
veterinary physical therapist of more than 30 years, and a certified
manual
therapist. The Yukon Quest is pleased to be bringing Wes Rau back
to
Whitehorse! Wes' previous appearances received unanimous positive
reviews.
Assessing Canine Injuries with Wes Rau
Friday, Sept 28th
6:30 - 9:30 p.m. Location TBA Wes will give an overview of canine injuries,
including what to look for and
how to identify problem areas. The emphasis is
on basic dog care, anatomy
and physiology. There will be Q&A at the end
of the presentation. Wes' approach to canine care is holistic, he encourages
people to look at their
dogs' physical needs as a foundation for all
activities and explains behavioural and performance "obstacles" from a
physiological standpoint,
allowing people to see their dogs and their
relationship with their dogs in
a new light and take a fresh approach to
their acute or historic concerns.
This session is for everyone with dogs,
whether they are pets, sport dogs,
or sled dogs.

Location TBA There is only 13 participants in each session to allow
maximum one-on-one
time with Wes. Each one-day workshop will start with
individual canine
assessment and lots of hands-on work. The workshop is
intended for people
with previous experience in canine massage, physical
therapy or holistic
canine body work.

Auditing Instructional Workshops

those who have a strong interest, but no previous experience in
caninean Advanced Instructional Workshop. Auditors attend a full-day
workshop to
watch Wes in action, but do not bring canines to work on. There
is so much
to learn from a day with Wes. Cost: $100 (incl. GST - includes
a full-day workshop and lunch
