As many of you have heard, Iditarod musher, Tim Osmar, was badly injured after protecting his family's homes from wildfires this summer. He shattered his leg in a 4-wheeler fall. He has had several surgeries and probably will have a few more. The doctors were unable to put all the bones back together, his leg and foot broke into too many pieces. He is getting around in a cast now and working in a supervisor capacity for his fishing boat but the salmon runs have been very poor this season. He is still hoping to heal enough to guide Rachael Scdoris in this years Iditarod (a paid position and much needed income). Tim has no medical insurance and as expected his bills are mounting. We at dogsled.com are planning to help with an online auction. How can you help? We are still looking for donated items that we can put up for bidding. Items like books, t-shirts, hats, racing bibs, autographed photos, pins, artwork..mushing memorablilla.....some of our best bidding items were from the heart so please help if you can.
