The Sled Dog Fund, Inc., a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to using racing sled dogs to raise funding for the support of children with disabilities is hosting “Tails from the Trail”, a charity banquet and silent auction on Friday, April 25th, 2008, at the Fairbanks Princess Hotel at 5:30 PM. Several well known Fairbanks mushers will relate stories from this year’s racing trails following dinner. Scheduled after dinner speakers include 2000 Yukon Quest Champion Aily Zirkle, 2008 Yukon Quest 2nd Place Finisher Ken Anderson and 2007 ISDRA 10 Dog Gold Medalist Jeff Conn. Tickets are $35.00 each and are available at Cold Spot Feeds and Pleasant Valley Store in Two Rivers. Proceeds to benefit children with disabilities.The Sled Dog Fund, Inc. directly supports clinical research on disabilities, funds hospital programs, assists parental education organizations and sponsors individual disabled children nationwide who wish to compete in adventure races of any kind. In addition, the Sled Dog Fund Inc. maintains distributor status in Alaska with a handicap access ramp manufacturer. Families of disabled children are able to obtain access ramps at a savings of up to 40% by working through The Sled Dog Fund, Inc. All donations to The Sled Dog Fund, Inc. are fully tax deductable.
