If passed, viewers of any websites such as Dogsled.com, Iditarod and Cabela's Iditarod that broadcast video over the internet which are viewed inside Michigan could face jail time and a $5,000 fine. Maybe they weren't thinking sled dog racing when it was proposed. As it is currently written, it just reads "dog racing", but that definitely leaves room for interpretation.

| The latest information posted on this bill is that it is aimed at Greyhound Racing & betting. The legislators are claiming they intend to make the more specific so as not to interfere with Sled Dog Races and other dog events. ie Flyball etc. I hope our friends in Michigan will keep pressure on the Legislators to ensure the bill protects Sled Dog Racing . |
