mackey-hdJune 11, 2006 - Lance Mackey was in Anchorage visiting sponsors, friends and supporters when he took a few hours to socialize at the local Harley-Davidson dealership.   Showered with applause from the crowd, Lance was invited on stage by Anchorage's House of Harley owner, Barry Matteson.  While on stage, he shook hands with Jim Ziemer, CEO of Harley-Davidson and Joanne Bischmann, VP - Licensing and Special Events.

Lance continued to be welcomed by fans with cameras in hand and smiles on their faces. Talk of Iditarod and the Yukon Quest mixed with motorcycles as people mingled and shook hands with Lance. The motorcycle stunt group, Artic Attack also entertained the crowd with some amazing stunts on their Buell motorcycles.

mackey-hd The Harley executives and their spouses flew up to attend the annual state HOG (Harley owners group) rally of Alaska being held in Fairbanks this year. They plan to ride Harleys up to Talkeetna, then spend a few days in Denali Park before continuing on to the rally in Fairbanks.

It was a great day filled with bratwurst, motorcycles, mushing fans and Harley owners.

See You at the Rally
June 14 - 17, Fairbanks at the Tanana Valley Alaska State Fairgrounds

mackey-hd Jim Ziemer, President and CEO of Harley and his wife Yvonne along with Joanne Bischmann, VP - Licensing and Special Events and her husband Rob will be in attendance.

Make up your own riding groups and meet new friends as you make your way to the Rally. HOG members will be heading north on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday so if you would like some company, just introduce yourself.

Look out for frost heaves on the Parks Highway from Denali Park entrance to just north of Healy (about 20 miles total).
