To date, 18 mushers have signed up for the 25th Running of the Yukon Quest International Sled Dog Race. These mushers were all eligible for the First Day Early Incentive Draw.
Current entrants for 2008 include past champions Sonny Lindner (1st ever Champion in 1984), Bill Cotter (1987) and Lance Mackey (3 time champion). Returning veterans include Brent Sass, Michelle Phillips, Kelly Griffin, Dave Dalton and Cor Guimond. This year's roster also has a number of rookie mushers. Rookie mushers from Alaska include Julie Estey, former Executive Director of the Fairbanks office; Michael Mayer, Becca Moore and Ken Anderson. Rookie Mushers from the Yukon include Didier Moggia and Jeremie Matrishon, both of the Whitehorse area. Other rookie entries include Andreas Moser of Switzerland, Mike Ellis of New Hampshire, Donald Smidt of Wisconsin and Trent Herbst of Idaho.
Congratulations Bill Cotter who won the First Day Draw and will have his $1,000 entry fee refunded.
