The 2007 Kobuk 440 starts April 5th. The popular race covers 440 miles from Kotzebue to Kobuk and back. The Kobok 440 is limited to 12 dogs, with a $60,000 purse. In 2006 Lance Mackey beat Jeff King by 26 minutes and Martin Buser by one hour and 40 minutes. Lance Mackey is signed up this year to defend his title.
