KNIK LAKE -- Heading north to race dogs in this weekend's
Knik 200-Joe Redington Sr. Memorial Sled Dog Race was a last-second decision for Kasilof musher Jon Little.

But the last decision he made Sunday morning on the IditarodTrail, just a mile short of the finish line, cost him the 200-mile race by three minutes.One wrong turn into a dog lot owned by a former Iditarodmusher tangled Little's team, squandered his two-mile lead over defending Knik 200 and Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Racechampion Jeff King and shattered Little's dream of capturing the first victory of his 15-year mushing career.
