UPDATE Sunday 1pm: 13 of the 32 mushers that began the Knik 200 mile race have successfully finished. With Ryan Redington leading the pack. Grandfather Joe would be very proud. Click here for race coverage
Update saturday 11:30 pm - T.daily The top five mushers in this years Knik 200 are neck and neck. In the lead is Ryan Redington with a time into Skewntna of 18:11, followed by Dan Kaduce at 18:45 (Dan's kennel partner Jodi Bailey just won the Gin Gin 200 last weeknd), in thrid is Zack Steer with a time in of 18:52, fourth is Sebastian Shnuele with 18:57 and fifth is Mike Santos. All have the capabilty of keeping this pace and staying with the pack. With this being a hard and fast trail, this could be a record finish as well as a race to the finish. Twenty three mushers have made it to the Skwentna checkpoint with 10 still working their way to the halfway point. One musher - Paul Charron, has withdrwan.

Update trail weather forecast: Jan 5th 2008 Saturday night - Partly cloudy. Lows 5 to 15 below. North wind to 10 mph except 15 to 30 mph through channeled areas along the Alaska Range. UPDATE: Thirty three mushers have signed up to run the Knik 200 - Joe Redington Memorial Race. Many of these mushers are attempting to add a qualifyng race under their belts for either the Yukon Quest or the Iditarod. Among the entrants are 2 of the Redington boys Ryan & Ray Jr..
