2007 Klondike 300
The 2007 Klondike 300 Dog Sled Race has a field of 23 mushers from four countries and is set to be a very close race. The first musher will leave from the Tug Bar on Knik-Goose Bay Road at 12:00 noon on Saturday, January 20. Due to five feet of sugar snow in the Petersville area the race course has been changed to two loops running from the Tug Bar to Deshka Landing at the Riverside Launch, on to Yentna Station and back to to the Tug via Flathorn lake and Iditarod trail. The total purse is $20,000 with money going to the top six finishers. The winner will take home $8,000. For more information visit their web site at http://www.klondike300.org/
