Cane talks with us just before the start of the 2007 Junior Iditarod.
|
The 2007 Jr. Iditarod will be the will be Cain Carter's second Jr. Iditarod. Last year was his first year on working with a dog team and he finished the 2006 Jr. Iditarod in 14th place out of 21 finishers. Cain (Kasilof, AK, USA) is a 10th grader at Skyview High School who enjoys skateboarding and snowboarding. His step-dad is Iditarod veteran, Lance Mackey, who also ran the Jr. Iditarod during his teen years. Cain says that he will be running some of his step dads Iditarod 2007 team. He plans to go to college when he finishes high school and isn't planning to continue mushing at this time but says, "who knows!"
