<description>Y did the RM talk about glare ice on the river? Is part of the trail on the river? Thought it was all on a road?

			<title>back half updates</title>
			<link>http://www.dogsled.com/index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id=205&amp;Itemid=113#pc_37</link>
			<description>Hello
I have been following races for 2 years now with both of my son's racing. I have found that almost without fail at all of the races I have seen, the front half of the pack is updated promptly as the race progresses. The back half seems to be forgotten and updates when someone gets around to it. Unfortunately, not everyone runs in the fornt half and they have people who are interested in their progress too. I really have high hopes that you guys do a better job of updating than I have seen with others.
Thanks and I'll be watching closely

			<title>We really try.</title>

			<description>Janet,

Great comments and you are absolutely correct. The biggest challenge for us at Dogsled.com is keeping live people in the field for the duration of every event. In many cases, we are also dependent on the race organizers or other volunteers to keep us informed. It's never OUR intention to drop the ball or forget about the middle or even the back of the pack.

For some of the larger events it can be easier simple because of the sheer number of people out there who are willing to stay with the race. Many of the smaller events are run by a very small team...and most of them are so worn out by the time the event begins, they're ready to sleep for at couple of days.

Thanks for the comments. Maybe your comments will be read by some who can help us extend the coverage to cover the whole race...

			<title>Glare ice</title>
			<link>http://www.dogsled.com/index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id=205&amp;Itemid=113#pc_42</link>
			<description>Dirk,

Yes, the trail does leave the road in a few places and they do cross the river at one point. I heard the glare ice was not all that significant - just a precautionary note.

			<title>Coverage of the Cantwell Classic</title>
			<link>http://www.dogsled.com/index.php?option=com_content&amp;task=view&amp;id=205&amp;Itemid=113#pc_52</link>
<description>For this being a first race the Cantwell Classic organizers did an excellent job pulling it all together. There were definetly some communication problems which we discussed out on the trail and ways to improve it for next year. It was indeed the best race I have ever been to. The folks in Cantwell are truely warm and treated me with open arms. I want to especially thank Mike &amp; Caitlin Santos for their tireless efforts and probably very little sleep they got putting this race on and all the folks at the &quot;Time to Eat Cafe&quot; who stayed open 24 hrs during the race. Dogsled.com has all the intention of covering races until that last mushers in. Please feel free to send us information on races, updates stories behind races etc. we have a toll free number that you can call and simply leave us a message or drop us an e-mail, we encourage your contributions. Check the photo gallery on &amp; off, we are editing and uploading more video and photos every day.
