| I left Alaska in 1992 to move south. Missed Alaska terribly, but missed the Itidarod most of all. I kept up with Susan Butcher and her racing and her illness when she became ill. I lost my mother, father and brother to cancer and am a strong advocate for cancer treatment. I was very moved by the start of this years itidarod with Susan's family there leading the pact. I know the LORD with Susan by his side are on the trail with all the mushers keeping them safe on their trek to Nome. I hope her girls follow in her footsteps and keep the Butcher dogs on the trail to Nome. I moved back to Alaska this past fall and wish all the mushers and their teams Godspeed. They are all in my prayers daily. HOORAH FOR THE BUTCHER FAMILY-KEEP SUSAN'S LEGACY ALIVE!!! Denise McAlexander (Alaskan by way of Texas) |
| The teacher reports are great. I'm a retired teacher and we raise sleddogs, but my one desire was to be the teacher on the trail. I Kim is doing a great coverage, keep up the good work. |
