Congratulations to Lance Mackey in his second Iditarod championship. He said this win was to prove to himself and everyone else that "it's not a fluke". Lance's determination has made history twice - the only competitor that has won the Yukon Quest and Iditarod back to back.

Subscribe to this comment's feed| The statement that Lance is the only competitor that comes in the top 10 after winning or placing at the top of the Yukon Quest is not entirely accurate. Ken Anderson was 2nd in the Yukon Quest this year, and 4th in the Iditarod. |

I rephrased it entirely to read that Lance is the only person in history to have won 1st place in both the Yukon Quest and Iditarod in the same year. And now he has done it twice!  |
