In January, 2000 Don Bowers—author, airman, dog driver—started a combined 200/300 mile dog race in Willow, Alaska. Following his death that year, a group of volunteers continued that race, now renamed in his memory. The race is a qualifier for both the Iditarod and the Yukon Quest. Sponsored by the Montana Creek Dog Mushers, Mile 94.2 Parks Highway Alaska . 2007 Race Information The 2007 300 mile Don Bowers Memorial race is ON (as is the 200). The trail crew reports a good trail for the 200 mile segment. The 300 mile segment is already groomed and staked.
Photos from the start The following mushers have either signed-up or expressed an interest in running this years race. The [I] or [Q] indicates the race is being run as a qualifer this year. Lists are in sign-up order.

| Certainly enjoy both Donna and June's photos. Their lines are sharp and clear, you can see faces, numbers, even identify people in the background. The personality of the dogs certainly show through in some of the head shots. Thanks you two, helps those of us too far away to be there in person. |
