The 2008 running of the Copper Basin 300 Sled Dog Race is fast approaching. Nicknamed the "Little Iditarod" by many mushers for it's variety of terrain and challenges that are similar to the Iditarod on a smaller scale. This year’s race will start on Saturday, January 12, 2008 in downtown Glennallen, Alaska. Lance Mackey, along with teammate Braxton Peterson, have signed up for this year's race. Lance won last year's Yukon Quest and the Iditarod! Lance won the 2006 CB300 and placed second in 2003. The Copper Basin 300 has twelve mushers signed up to date. Join the fun and sign up to be a dog handler, help out at race central or your favorite checkpoint, or just lend a hand at the race start and finish!
