Megan Wins the 2007 Jr. Cantwell Classic

All the junior mushers are in to Cantwell. Congratulations to all the competitors on a great race! See the final placement of the junior mushers on the Jr. results page.

We hope to get a few post-race interviews from some of the junior racers. Updates may take longer as we shift our focus to the senior musher results.

All but one Jr. musher has returned to Cantwell. We are still waiting for Mac Bears to arrive. The top 7 times are posted and the rest of the mushers are marked "IN" until we get their official arrival times. One team was arriving just as we received this report. Details to come.

Three junior mushers arrived in Cantwell for a neck and neck photofinish. Megan Hedgecoke arrived first at 17:48 with Ellen King breathing down her neck at 17:48:01. Third place goes to Charlie Allison. An exciting finish for the crowd, a great finish for this first annual race and a wonderful adventure for a handful of kids.

We just received word that the Jr. mushers have all made the half-way (30 mile checkpoint) and are now returning to Cantwell. The checkpoint has closed and the first Jr. teams are expected to arrive sometime close to 5:15PM local time.

No update yet on the expected time of arrival for the Sr. teams.
