Kasilof, Alaska
Jon Little was born in 1964 in England. He grew up in the Seattle area as a "Boeing brat." Jon moved to Alaska in 1987 to begin his career as a journalist and currently works for the Anchorage Daily News.
Jon started mushing in 1991 after he had seen the Iditarod start and became "hooked." He says in the beginning all he really wanted was a cat, but in 1989, he adopted a dog and started skijoring. "Then," he says, "things got out of hand." Now he maintains a yard of 25 line-bred Huskies out of Dave Scheer's and Dana Goudeau's breeding. He's run the Copper Basin, the Tustumena and the Alaska ComeBack races.
Jon is a member of the Peninsula Sled Dog & Racing Association. Last year was his rookie Iditarod. John says he's interested in dog care - "mushing is my hobby." He is single.
