Wasilla, Alaska
Devan
Currier was born in Vermont in 1960 where he was raised on a Morgan Horse
farm. He graduated from Vermont Technical College and the University of
New Hampshire with a degree in civil engineering and is now employed with
USKH Engineering in Anchorage. While working in New Hampshire in 1987,
Devan met his wife Judy and in 1993 they began mushing dogs. In 1995,
with a truck full of Siberian Huskies, they moved to Alaska in search
of more winter and better trails. Devan says after he ran his first 200
mile race, he became interested in running the Iditarod. In his spare
time he enjoys home building, woodworking, fishing and driving dogs.
