Seeley Lake, Montana
Cindy Gallea was born in Minnesota in 1951. She and her family moved to Montana where she is a nurse practitioner. She is married to Bill, a physician there, and they have two sons, Jim, 19, an Iditarod veteran, and Brian, 15.
Cindy has been running dogs for 13 years and racing for nine years. Cindy decided to run the Iditarod after being in Nome to see her husband come in in 1996. "Running sled dogs continues to offer me many special challenges and rewards. Because of its length and because of the amazing Alaskan terrain it traverses, Iditarod offers these challenges and rewards in a unique and most immense way. This draws me to Iditarod again." Cindy says she enjoys most her family, her work, hiking, exercise and of course, mushing. Comments (0)
