Buddy Streeper wins the Arctic Circle Championship. This is a 3 day, 25-mile race starting on the sea ice on Kobuk Lake in front of Kotzebue. The Arctic Circle Championships started in 1974, it now offers the second largest prize purse for a sprint race in the world taking second only to the Fur Rondy.
