Blowing our own horn.

Did you know that Dogsled.com has been around since 1996-97? We have been mentioned on many news programs and other web sites. Our first national media exposure came in March 1998 when CNN Headline News announced our coverage of the Iditarod race. We appreciate the recognition and hope you appreciate those who led you to Dogsled.com!

Short History

Dogsled.com was the dream of an Alaskan ISP entrepreneur that started out in 1995 as a simple web page with Iditarod information. Over time the world wide demand for Iditarod information became more obvious, so with the help of an ambitious new employee Dogsled.com was launched in 1998 with great results. In that year, CNN Headline News reported on the Iditarod race and listed Dogsled.com as a great online resource for race information. The success nearly brought the ISP and Dogsled.com to a complete halt. More than 1 million viewers visited Dogsled.com in one week!

In 1999, Dogsled.com was left out to dry by the ISP which had originally built the site into a well recognized name. Early in 2000, that ambitious employee (who had since left the ISP) purchased Dogsled.com with the intent of bringing life back to such a great site. Now that 2006 is upon us, we are once again working hard to rebuild Dogsled.com into a great source of information, learning and entertainment. We hope you'll join us in this effort to revive Dogsled.com.

Our People

Dogsled.com has brought together mushers, developers and media experts from all walks of life. Coming soon, we will list a few of our biographies and personal interests in mushing, outdoors and the Internet.
